TCA Peels TCA (trichloro acetic acid) chemical peels are highly effective in promoting skin smoothness and vitality. It also improves superficial discoloration and eliminate fine wrinkles. This peel will improve color, freshness, texture, skin tone, and fine wrinkles. It will also improve superficial discoloration, such as age spots. It may improve blotches and can sometimes improve dark circles under your eyes. This peel may be repeated every three to six months for optimal results. Unlike deep peels, medium peels may be performed safely on people with olive and light brown skin. They may also be used in some people with dark brown skin, although the risk of discoloration is higher. [TOP] Sclerotherapy Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat spider veins of the legs. Using a syringe with a tiny needle, your doctor injects a small amount of a hypertonic saline solution directly into the spider veins causing injury inside the unwanted vessels. Following the injections, patients wear compression stockings in order to compress the treated veins. The blood becomes trapped in the injected veins. The body then gradually absorbs the trapped blood, and the vein disappears over a 3 -4 week period. Often 2-3 treatment sessions are required to achieve a 90% or better clearing of the spider veins. The use of microdermabrasion began in Europe in the 1980's and involves the use of tiny particles blown against the surface of the skin and vacuumed away, simultaneously removing the superficial layers of the skin to expose the fresher, healthier skin below Microdermabrasion requires a series of treatments. When repeated weekly or bi-weekly for anywhere from 6-16 weeks, the cumulative results can be significant. Though you definitely feel the procedure as it happens it is a painless experience (often compared to being licked by a cat)and therefore does not require anasthesia. The procedure typically lasts less than an a hour. The skin may be slightly pink and/or sensitive after treatment, however this effect usually only lasts about twenty minutes.
