1. Dress The Part

SPF Clothing

  • SPF Cover Sunshirts from J.Crew and Lulu Lemon are a more glamorous take on sun protection. These are good options for running and tennis as well!
  • Columbia fishing shirts for men at Academy Sports & Outdoors are cool and comfortable.
  • Lands End Rash Guards are so much easier than applying and reapplying sunscreen to squirming kids.
  • Tilly Hats cover your ears and the back of your neck!

2. Protect From The Inside Out

  • Heliocare is a daily use antioxidant supplement that helps maintain your skin’s ability to protect against sun-related effects and aging. Take these pills daily, and while you are on vacation take one capsule one half hour before exposure to sunlight and a second capsule 2-3 hours later.

3. Choose The Right Products

Supergoop Everyday SPF 30

  • Supergoop Mist SPF 50 with Antioxidants or Elta MD UV Sport SPF 50 should be applied every 80 minutes when sweating or swimming. These products are great for squirming kids or hard to reach areas. Be sure to rub it in after spraying on.
  • Supergoop Everyday SPF 30 family size pump should be applied every 80 minutes when sweating or swimming. We love this pump because it contains 18 oz. An adult requires 1 oz of sunscreen to cover a bathing suit clad body. So this will cover a family of 4 for 6 hours of beach time.
  • Supergoop Lip Balm SPF 30 moisturizes and prevents dry chapped/burned lips. The lips have even less natural protection from the sun than the skin on your face, so it’s vital to apply SPF!

  • Topical Antioxidant: We love SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF. It should be applied after you wash your face, before you apply sunscreen to soak up wrinkle and brown spot-causing free radicals.
