What is it?

Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of “peach Fuzz” in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. Using a scalpel and a delicate touch, the provider simply abrades the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes.

Who needs it?

Dermaplaning is recommended for all skin types except those with acne prone skin. If you have deep cystic acne, wait until breakouts are clear before trying this treatment. This is also a great treatment if you are pregnant or nursing and want exfoliation with no side effects.

What are the results?

There is zero downtime, and you’ll immediately have smooth skin and look more radiant! All of your “peach fuzz” will be gone, which is why first-timers say their skin has never felt so soft before! Your treatment products will penetrate more effectively, and makeup application is flawless!

How often?

Dermaplaning can be done as often as every 2 weeks, although it is usually done when vellus hair starts to grow back, which is generally in one month’s time. It can also be paired with other procedures, such as laser treatments, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion.

Many women are often concerned that shaving “peach Fuzz” will make it grow back heaver and darker, but that’s just an old wives’ tale! Superficial vellus hair (that’s the science-y name for soft fine facial hair) will grow back at the same rate and with the same texture as it was before treatment!
