Drs. Deirdre Hooper & Sarah Jackson are always at the forefront in technologically advanced treatments. They understand that the skin care industry is constantly changing and learning new ways to formulate and combine ingredients for maximum efficacy and results. With so many products on the market it is hard to know what ingredients are beneficial and what are a waste of time and money. We always recommend professional or prescription strength products because they can legally have a higher percentage of the active ingredient, meaning faster and better results!   Here are some of our must have ingredients for anti-aging and general skin health!

Retinoids are still the gold standard of skin care today for a reason! They naturally turn around how skin appears, reducing the signs of aging, acne, uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, oil production, and environmental assaults to our skin.

Vitamin C is one of the most potent antioxidants used in skin care today because of its ability to boost the skin’s natural protection against age-causing free radicals (uv rays, smoking, and pollution). Applying vitamin C topically every day will also help even out skin tone, correct fine lines and wrinkles, and give skin a healthy, rosy glow. Some of our favorites are Revision Vitamin C 30% and SkinCeuticals Phloretin!

Hyaluronic Acid can enhance moisture content in the skin beyond comparison with anything else because of its ability to retain water in the skin, and at the same time revitalize skin’s outer layers so they look and feel softer, smoother, and radiantly hydrated. Some of our favorites are SkinMedica’s HA5 and Revision Hydrating Serum.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) work by dissolving dead skin cells that accumulate on our skin, making our skin appear dull and dry. These skin smoothers help clear blemishes, hydrate the skin, and lighten pigment spots by loosening layers of dead cells clinging to skin’s surface. Using AHA’s regularly will help keep skin looking healthy and radiant. Some of our favorites are Obagi Exfoderm Forte and Amp Daily Peel Pads(ask us how to sign up for RegimenPro to purchase!)

Niacinamide (vitamin B3) has been shown to help reduce redness in the skin because of its ability to increase circulation in the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that allow skin to look more calm and even-toned. Some of our favorites are Elta MD AM & PM Therapy and SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal B3!

Peptides are amino acids that help your skin make specific proteins (such as collagen and elastin) by stimulating cell rejuvenation. Without peptides, skin doesn’t remain intact and the result is loss of firmness, appearance of wrinkles, texture changes, and skin that doesn’t bounce back as it once did. Some of our favorites are Revision DEJ Cream and Revision REVOX 7!
