Ski Slope Skin

We love to hit the slopes when winter hits, or just hang out in the lodge with a warm beverage. However, you can get just as much sun damage skiing as you can at the beach. Here are some great tips to keep in mind when packing your bags!

While skiing, you are closer to the suns damaging rays so applying a daily Vitamin C antioxidant and sunscreen is crucial. Not to mention, the reflection off the snow leading to double sun exposure. We love SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic and Elta UV Sport SPF 50  which protects against UVA and UVB rays and is water resistant for 80 minutes, so don’t forget to reapply!

You may need to adjust your normal skincare routine when in colder climates. Leave your retinoids and exfoliating AHAs at home and replace with hydration. We love Elta MD Moisturizer that creates a barrier on the skin locking in its moisture for 12 hours, and Neocutis Biocream containing PSP (epidermal growth factors) that further nurtures dry skin.

Don’t forget your eyes and lips as they are the most exposed while on the ski slope. We love the Supergoop Eye Cream which delivers powerful antioxidant and SPF 37 protection! Pair this with our Elta MD Lip Balm SPF 31 and your ready for the slopes!

One of the best things you can do in cold climates is keep your body hydrated and moisturized. The best time to apply body lotion is immediately after your bath or shower, this helps to lock in the moisture and further hydrate your skin. We also recommend using a humidifier to keep your skin happy.
