In the midst of wedding day planning it’s easy to forget about your skin. I have seen many brides-to-be come into the office with only a few months until their wedding and unfortunately don’t have the time to accomplish their skin care goals. You want to look and feel your best on your big day so make sure you take the time to make an appointment with an aesthetician or dermatologist to see what skin care regimen is the best for you.  If you have medical concerns such as acne, scars, or any other skin condition you should meet with your dermatologist as soon as possible because many times it can take several months to treat.

The best advice I can give is to have a cosmetic consultation a year from your wedding, or as soon as possible from the time you’re engaged. And remember, you want to look your best not only for your wedding day but also for your showers, photos, and all the pre-wedding events. So don’t wait until the last minute, the sooner you start your regimen the better your skin will look.

Here is a little cheat sheet for some great preparatory wedding treatments.

1 year: Have a consultation and start your skin care regimen and treatment plan.

10 months: Fraxel for deep wrinkles and scars. 3-5 monthly treatments may be needed.

9 months: Start Laser Hair Removal Treatments. 4-8 monthly treatments may be needed.

8 months: Liposonix for small areas of fat. Results seen in 3 months.

5 months: IPL for facial redness. 1-3 monthly treatments may be needed.

Fraxel Thulium for pigmentation (sun spots and melasma). 1-3 monthly treatments may be needed.

4 months: Exilis for skin tightening. Requires 1-5 weekly treatments, can take 2-3 months to show final results.

3 months: Injectable filler to replace lost volume.

2 months: Botox treatment to soften fine lines and wrinkles.

3 weeks: Clear and Brilliant laser for brightening the skin. Can take 7-10 days to see final results.

3 days: Microdermabrasion.

This treatment plan is not for everyone, it can be altered to your schedule and needs. Schedule a complimentary consultation with one of our aestheticians to make a perfect treatment plan for glowing wedding day skin!
