Sarah Cenac Jackson, M.D.
Dr. Sarah Jackson is a board-certified dermatologist and third generation physician who specializes in medical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology. Dr. Jackson was inspired by her father, grandfather, brother and many uncles to pursue a career as a physician. She is the first female physician in her family, and her love of both medicine and surgery drew her to the field of dermatology. As a dermatologist, Dr. Jackson is passionate about treating the skin at every age and stage in life, and truly enjoys growing with her patients and their families throughout the years.
Dr. Jackson is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She received her undergraduate degree in zoology from Louisiana State University, where she graduated cum laude. Her postdoctoral training was at the Louisiana State University Department of Dermatology. Dr. Jackson contributed to the rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina by co-founding Audubon Dermatology with Dr. Deirdre Hooper in 2006. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Jackson is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Louisiana State University. She is a member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and currently serves on the Board of Directors. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and serves as Louisiana’s representative to the Dermatological Contract Advisor committee and on the Emerging Practice Models committee. Dr. Jackson is also an Annenberg Circle member of the Dermatology Foundation, and has served in the past as the Louisiana State Chair for the foundation. Additionally, she is a member and past president of the Louisiana Dermatology Society, and currently serves on the Advocacy committee. Dr. Jackson is a Stegman Circle member of the ASDS, supporting the future of dermatological surgery. She is a member of the New Orleans Women’s Dermatologic Journal Club, the Skin of Color Society, and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
Dr. Jackson is a dedicated clinical trialist, and is highly committed to her patients by consistently mastering the best and latest techniques in the evolving field of medical and cosmetic dermatology. Due to her acknowledged expertise, Dr. Jackson is regularly featured in major publications and broadcasts a bi-weekly medical news segment for our local Fox 8 news station. Dr. Jackson lectures and performs live injections at local and national Dermatology and Plastic Surgery meetings, and trains colleagues in cosmetic and laser dermatology around the country.
Dr. Jackson lives in New Orleans, LA with her husband and their three children. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and is an avid competitive tennis player.
