How does the Excel HR Laser work?

The Excel HR laser encompasses two different wavelengths that allow us to customize your laser hair removal treatment based on your skin and hair type. The Alexandrite 755nm wavelength or the 1064nm Nd:Yag wavelength will both effectively cause permanent hair reduction anywhere on the body. 

Am I a candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

Almost everyone is a candidate for laser hair removal. If your hair is white or gray, the laser will unfortunately not see it since there is a lack of melanin. In this instance, you are not a candidate.

How Is Laser Hair Removal performed?

Laser hair removal treatments take 5 to 60 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area. You will feel quick burst of energy as we systematically cover the treatment area.

What Is recovery like after Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal typically has no down time. The treatment area will feel warm and may be slightly pink for a short period after your treatment. It is important to remember to apply SPF daily and have no sun exposure for up to 2 weeks after your treatment.

How long will the results of Laser Hair Removal last?

To achieve permanent hair reduction we recommend a series of treatments. The reason is because hair grows in phases and laser hair removal only works when hair is in the anagen phase. When the hair is connected to the blood supply and the heat can travel down the hair shaft to disable the follicle from growing. At any given point only 20-30% of hair follicles are in the anagen phase which is why it takes 6-8 treatment to consider your hair reduction complete. Hair reduction will last forever. However, over time a small percentage of hair can grow back, although it is still typically finer and softer than it was before.
